Vex IQ Robotics Beginner

About This Course

Introduction to Robotics and Coding for Beginners This level is designed for students with zero prior knowledge in robotics and machine coding, typically aged between 9 to 12 years old. Throughout this 13-week course, students will acquire fundamental knowledge on utilizing motors, gears, and sensors, alongside learning the basics of coding.
 

Each class will concentrate on a specific building mechanism or module, enabling students to grasp its functionalities thoroughly. Additionally, students will be guided to program their robots to execute one or two tasks per session.
 

To foster collaboration, communication, and soft skills development, students will be paired up as partners for each class. This teamwork approach encourages active participation and mutual learning among peers.

Topics Covered in this Class

  • Get to know Vex IQ robotics devices

  • Get to know Scratch based Vex IQ Coding Platforms

  • 10 interesting and fun projects to implement the robot mechanical structure as well as the sensors learning (including LED sensor, Bumper Sensor, Distance sensor and Optical sensor) ​

Portfolio-Boosting Diploma & Transcript

  • At the conclusion of your child's course, they will receive an official Burning Gear Robotics diploma and course transcript outlining the skills they learned over the course of these 12 classes
